Complete Electronic Warfare Radar Overhauls
Initiation to Closing
Working for Northrop Grumman in the engineering office of the Mid-Atlantic Electronic Warfare Range, I was responsible for managing overhauls of the various systems on the radar range. The project resources were cross-functional and cross-departmental.
These overhauls usually required the technical manuals to be updated, so checking and documenting wire lists was a major requirement. Many of the systems suffered corrosion due to the salt water fog environment on the North Carolina coast. The systems were stripped down to bare metal and either painted or coated to prevent future corrosion.
- Requirements gathering with government employees and system technicians.
- Define what success looks like, create schedule, estimate time and cost.
- Procure parts and services, manage work.
- Mange the schedule and communicate to shareholders.
- Troubleshoot system and correct issues.
- Quality checks to ensure project meets the specifications set at beginning.
FLAIRD E-COMMERCE BUILD
Creation and Ongoing Improvements
My wife and I, having been previous brick and mortar store owners, decided to create an online presence. Working through products, vendors and business model we decided on a home decor store using the drop-shipping model. My wife runs the day to day activities, while I perform all the technical and business projects.
The current, major project is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This includes revamping our onsite SEO by creating a monthly content schedule, selecting and hiring a writer to write the content and creating unique product descriptions. We are also focusing on the offsite SEO such as article syndication, link building/attraction and guest article posting.
- Selecting business model, industry and vendor requirements.
- Testing e-commerce themes, creating ordering/return processes.
- Setting up on new marketplaces such as Houzz and Google Shopping.
- Continuous processes improvement to increase profitability.
